Through Restless Seas I Come
Where then yesterday? Now all I am is passed,
All heroic voyages and this will be my last.
Through restless seas I come.
Time just washed away to nothing more, to none.
Words we used to say all gone.
All gone away, all done.
And so, if these broken limbs don’t fail,
I’ll climb aboard and into the storm I’ll sail.
Again
Christ! It’s waterlogged and nothing works, nothing’s dry,
Ghosts of perished sailors all cry
“You’ll never sail, you’ll die”
But I’ll do both, with this sinking ship and me,
We’ll chart a path into oceans of history.
Again.
Cast this wreck away!
With maps I’ll navigate through restless seas my course,
Perhaps I’ll demonstrate my expertise, my force.
Through restless seas I come.
Mystic, fool, radiant jewel,
Teacher, wise man, sage.
Golden flame, none more sane,
You a beacon blazed.
All are we, lost at sea,
Bring this sailor home.
Journey’s end, welcome friend,
Now your crossing’s done.
